Saturday

Classes 2:00-6:00 p.m. — MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM

Charlie and Melissa Fuller will be bringing you two classes today in:

• Blues Fundamentals - A beginning level intro to Blues and a

refresher for the more experienced dancer. You'll learn both vintage

and contemporary forms of the basic Blues step and how to relate

these basic steps to the music. You’ll also learn the techniques

necessary to improvise rhythmically in varying degrees of closed

position while using these basic steps.

• Blues Moves - This class expands on the basic Blues vocabulary

and adds some flash with slides, dips, and turns. You’ll also learn

techniques to vary these basic moves so that you can expand your

repertoire and keep your Blues dancing full of interesting variations.

This class will explore how to take "small and simple" further than

you ever imagined.

Kelly Porter and Adam Boehmer will also be bringing you:

• Ye Olde Lindy Repair Shoppe - The secret to having lindy that

can fly at any tempo is getting a solid rhythmic swingout with soul

and precision-- and we are here to help. Intended for folks with some

experience at Lindy Hop, this class is meant to take your dancing to

the next level and get you swinging out solid and hot.

• Blank Canvas Charleston - Getting bored with your dance? Let us

light the fire under your feet! Learn to dress up your Charleston with

different rhythms, frames and footwork. This class will strengthen

the roots of Charleston so that you can move on to lookin' sweet and

stylish. You'll never do the same basic twice!

Jimmy Sapienza's Five Guys Named Moe: 9:00-12:00 a.m. IN

THE NEW BAKER CENTER MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM

Sunday

Classes 1:00-3:00 p.m. — You want more soul? You got it. These

classes are designed to help you work on the finer points of dancing.

ADAM AND KELLY'S CLASS WILL RUN AT THE SAME TIME

FROM 1-2:00 P.M. AT PUTNAM HALL. CHARLIE AND MELISSA'S

CLASS WILL BEGIN AT 2:15 IN THE MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM

Kelly will be leading the girls in:

The Bad-Assed Jass Class For Girls - That's right, we're nailing the

"No Boys Allowed" sign to the clubhouse door and rocking-out solo.

Why? Because it's about time we stopped fighting over who gets to

dance with the good leads and decided to show them up instead.

Learning to be self-possessed as a solo dancer will give you a whole

new level of confidence on the social dance floor. A routine inspired

by the great female dancers of days past will be taught. This is the

real girl-power.

Adam will be leading the guys in:

The Bad-Assed Jass Class For Boys - Ok Men....there's more to

solo dance than splits, Hip-Hop and a handful of Charleston moves.

We are going to find your hips and get them swingin' We are going to

get those arms and legs moving confidently! Learn to exist in a song

comfortably with new movements and ideas to help add style and

strength to your dance.

Charlie and Melissa has prepared one final class:

Blues Breakaways – There’s more to blues dancing than just closed

position with your partner. As long as there has been blues music,

there have been people dancing to it even when they didn’t have a

partner. This class will help you learn to move your own body to

blues, rather than just moving (or being moved by) someone else’s.

You’ll learn how to improvise visual lead-follow, call and response,

and complementary solo movement.

Farewell dance 3:00-6:00 p.m. — Still hanging around? We'll

give you some fantastic music to send you home. Or it will at least

be the sad soundtrack to the goodbyes you have to make with your

brand-new friends. IN THE NEW BAKER CENTER MULTI-

PURPOSE ROOM
